Wollaston gears up for first fringe festival

ARTISTS, musicians and community-minded residents are gearing up for the first-ever Wollaston Fringe Festival.
The free fun event, featuring art and craft displays, live music and children’s activities, will take place at Graham’s Place in Bridgnorth Road, this Sunday (March 24), from midday until 5pm.
There will also be a cake sale, a gathering of mopeds and scooters - and various charities and good causes including UK Homes 4 Heroes and Ridgewood High School’s Project Gambia team will be manning stalls and highlighting their work.
Stourbridge inventor Robert ‘Merlyn’ Farwell will also be hosting glassblowing demonstrations on his functional miniature replica of the Stourbridge Lion steam engine.
Sam Wooldridge, festival spokesman, said: “It’ll be a nice little community afternoon to get people involved with - and it’s all free.”
