Borough museum set for British family fun day
5:00pm Saturday 10th August 2013 in News
A DAY of good old British fun awaits visitors to Broadfield House Glass Museum next Saturday (August 17).
The Kingswinford museum will be getting out the bunting and firing up the brass band with its annual Best of British family fun day from 10am to 4pm.
There will be plenty to keep the youngsters entertained at the free event with Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides, sand pit, traditional games, a penalty shoot out, glassmaking demonstrations and craft activities.
To keep hunger at bay there will be a fish and chip van, homemade ice cream and cupcakes on sale but families are invited to bring their own picnic if they wish.
There will also be a chance to win a family ticket to Black Country Living Museum and a meal for two at Nando’s Castlegate Dudley.
Councillor Tracy Wood, Dudley’s cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The Best of British family fun day at Broadfield is always tremendous fun. It’s lovely to see families enjoying themselves at this free fun day, which is one of many free family fun days running at our museums over the summer.
“Whatever the weather, this is sure to be an excellent way to spend a summer’s day.”
