A THREE-hour sponsored zumba session in Kingswinford raised more than £2,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The beach party themed event was organised and led by zumba instructor Suzanne Richardson at The Kingswinford School, Water Street, on June 15.
There were more than 50 people taking part in the dancing session and funds were boosted by the sales of ice cream and raffle tickets.
Cash raised at the event will go to the New Quay lifeboat station on the Welsh coast where the Mersey class lifeboat ‘The Frank and Lena Clifford of Stourbridge’ is stationed and where RNLI beach lifeguards are currently on duty.
RNLI chairman, Chris Fonteyn, said: “It was a real fun event – and everyone had a great time. We are extremely grateful to Suzanne, her team, all who donated such wonderful raffle prizes and to everyone who took part.”
