Avanti chips in to help disabled Stourbridge youngster

BLACK Country-based Avanti Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms has donated £250 to help a severely disabled Stourbridge youngster.
Eight-year-old Luis Hickman from Stourbridge has chromosome 1p36 deletion, a rare condition which has left him facing a lifetime of communication and mobility problems.
His mum Gemma, however, hopes to improve the wheelchair-bound youngster’s quality of life by getting hold of equipment such as a specialised tablet to help him communicate - which she is currently fundraising for.
After reading about the campaign in the News, Avanti marketing manager Jonathan Pearce approached managing director Ken Dearn, who decided the company should chip in to help.
Gemma said: “I was delighted when Avanti contacted me to start the ball rolling and would like to thank them on Luis’s behalf for their generous donation.”
Bosses at Avanti, which has its head office in Lye, now hope more businesses and individuals will follow their lead in supporting Luis.
A fundraising night for the youngster is being held at David Lloyd Leisure in Brierley Hill on Sunday October 6 and anyone who wishes to donate raffle or tombola prizes can call Gemma on 07568 137147.
