Part of Bath Road to close as work to bring Tesco to Stourbridge nears completion
4:51pm Friday 6th September 2013 in News
BATH Road in Stourbridge will be closed from Monday ((September 9) for a month as part of continuing works to bring Tesco to town.
The inner lane of the road (part of the ring road), from the lay-by next to the Crystal Leisure Centre to just past the Crown Lane entry onto Bath Road, will be closed until October 4 as part of the final phase of multi-million pound works to transform the old Crown Centre into a Tesco superstore.
The other two lanes will remain open.
The closure is necessary so hoarding can be removed and new landscaping installed. Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, Dudley's cabinet member for transportation, said: “We are now on the final phase of works to completing this multi million pound redevelopment and I thank everyone for their continued patience during this time.”
People can sign up to receive updates about the project by emailing their details to firstname.lastname@example.org or updates are also available via twitter #stourregen or on the council’s ‘Dudley borough’ facebook page.
