Appeal to trace bikes worth thousands stolen from Kingswinford home
2:36pm Saturday 7th September 2013 in News
SPECIALIST bikes worth thousands of pounds have been stolen from a Kingswinford home.
Thieves broke into the garage of a house in Cedars Avenue during the evening of Saturday August 31 and took four pedal cycles.
Officers have conducted house to house enquiries and examined CCTV as well as advising second hand retailers to be on the lookout.
They are now asking the public for help.
Investigating officer, PC Caroline Morris, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered these bikes for sale.
"They are quite distinctive and their owner is obviously very keen to get them back.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the bikes being taken away.
"The road is a cul-de-sac so the thieves would have exited the same way they arrived."
The first bike is a Litespeed titanium bike (pictured). There is a scuff on the Litespeed transfer and a Cat Eye cycle computer is attached with a saddle bag containing gas cartridges, tubes and tool kits.
There are no tri bars attached as in the photo.
The second is a Cannondale Slice Time trial bike (also pictured) with Cat Eye cycle computer attached. There is an Iron man pouch on the front with cartridges and tubes. The wheels have been upgraded to Mavic Kyserium wheels.
The third bike is a dark metallic grey Trek Grand Tourer. Attached is a cycle computer and there are odd wheels - the front is a Bontraga and rear is a Giant.
The fourth is a silver brushed aluminium Claude Butler mountain bike, with bike computer attached. It has cross trainer tyres.
Anyone with information can call PC Morris on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
