Brierley Hill fundraiser for plucky Kingswinford teen
8:00am Friday 20th September 2013 in News
A FUNDRAISING event will take place in Brierley Hill to raise funds for a brain damaged Kingswinford teenager.
In January, Elle-Mae Davidson, aged 16, was diagnosed with AVM, a malformation of large blood vessels in her brain, which were bleeding.
She underwent emergency surgery but suffered a major haemorrhage during the operation and nearly died.
In the days following the operation, Elle-Mae suffered brain swelling, a stroke and numerous heart attacks but the plucky teen survived although scans suggest she now has significant brain damage.
Elle-Mae is currently at a paediatric rehabilitation centre in Surrey where it is hoped she will make great improvements.
But when she returns, her home will need adaptations that the NHS cannot fund, so to ease the financial strain on her family, a fundraiser will take place at the David Lloyd Leisure, Pensnett Road, on Saturday October 5.
The event will run from 7pm to 1am and feature a performance from up and coming Black Country singer Beth Sherburn, a disco, buffet and raffle.
Tickets cost £15 and are available by calling Debra Earnshaw on 07702834322 or Debbie Roberts on 07971705273.
