Age UK Dudley celebrate successful lottery grant bid

AGE UK Dudley has received £358,784 to help fund its activity programme for the over 50s.
The charity’s Springboard Project, which helps older people improve their mental and physical wellbeing was given the cash boost by the Big Lottery Fund.
Jenny Worwood, project coordinator, said: “Age UK Dudley is overjoyed at the news of being awarded a Big Lottery grant. The project is able to develop a vast variety of activities, services, trips and social experiences for our current 300 members and we welcome many more to join us.
Activities available at centres in Merry Hill, Brierley Hill and Netherton, include zumba, drama, line dancing, seated exercise and table tennis.
The project also arranges trips, lunches, talks, demonstrations and workshops for members as well as a counselling service and holistic health and beauty therapies.
Mrs Worwood added: “We have so many activities and courses already starting this September and we hope to attract loads of new people to our centres.”
