Staff at Amblecote Dental Care got their teeth into fundraising
12:00pm Tuesday 24th September 2013 in News
A SPONSORED walk organised by staff at Amblecote Dental Care has raised hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity.
The team decided to celebrate the practice’s 25th anniversary by completing a six-mile trek in aid of the Mouth Cancer Foundation.
They left the practice on Amblecote Road, Brierley Hill, at 11am on Saturday (September 21) and were waved off by Stourbridge MP, Margot James, who launched the walk.
Clinical manager, Julie Southall, said: “The route took us through Stourbridge High Street, where many shoppers made kind donations. We also got plenty of encouragement from passing motorists beeping their horns.”
A couple of hours later, the walkers reached their destination, The Vine Inn, Clent, where they were joined by family and friends to celebrate their achievement with complimentary drinks.
Their effort has currently raised more than £600 but donations will be accepted until mid October.
