Kingswinford salon runs charity tanning week for Macmillan Cancer Support

A KINGSWINFORD beauty salon aims to give a cancer charity a boost by donating a percentage of the profits from spray tans this week.
Pure Spirit Health and Beauty Salon, based at Fortnocks Health Club, is running a charity tanning week to promote the health benefits of spray tanning rather than sunbed use.
The salon has pledged to give £5 for every £15 spray tan carried out to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Salon owner Anneka Brookes said: “Many people still view spray tans as they were ten years ago and have visions of streaky orange tans, but it’s no longer the case. You can now achieve the same standard of tan using a spray tan but without the health risks.
“Sunbeds increase your chance of developing skin cancer by more than a half, and for young people it’s even worse with people who start using sunbeds before 35 having a 75 per cent higher risk of developing skin cancer.”
