A STOURBRIDGE building society has given three of the town's charities a share of £1,000.
Yorkshire Building Society customers were asked to vote for local charities that they thought deserved a share of the cash.
The top three charities, were given a share according to the number of votes they received.
Mary Stevens Hospice was the favourite, and received £500 from the building society’s charitable foundation.
Midlands Air Ambulance received a £300 cash boost and The Phoenix Centre, which supports toddlers with development delays and disabilities, received £200.
Vicki Rowles, head of fundraising at Mary Stevens Hospice, was delighted with the news.
She said: “We rely on donations and fundraising like this to maintain the much-needed care we provide so I would like to thank everyone who voted. The money donated will be put to great use.”
Josh Watchorn, a customer consultant at the building society, added: “The charities we chose to support provide invaluable services to the Stourbridge and wider community. I hope these donations will make a real difference.”
