Former West Midlands football players will take to the pitch for charity match

SOME of the greatest former West Midlands football stars will take to the pitch once more to raise funds for a Wollaston school’s Gambia project.
Forest Falcons Junior Football Club has organised the charity match in aid of Ridgewood High School’s trip to Gambia next year.
The school has been fundraising for six years to improve the lives of people in the West African country and during visits, they have helped paint and refurbish schools and taught a range of activities including art and craft, sport, music, drama.
The charity match at Lye Town Football Club’s ground on Stourbridge Road, will see the Falcon’s managers and coaches take on the West Midlands 11, made up of ex West Bromwich Albion, Wolves and Stourbridge players.
Confirmed players include Bob Taylor, Daryl Burgess, Geoff Horsfield, Jon Purdie and Micky Holmes.
The match will kick off at 2pm next Sunday (October 13).
Tickets cost £2 for adults, £1 for children.
