Kinver Rotary 10K raises around £3,000 for Dudley's Action Heart charity

CHARITY runners raised nearly £3,000 to help borough heart patients by taking part in the annual Kinver 10K road race.
Nearly 200 athletes took to the South Staffordshire streets for the event on September 29, held in aid of Dudley’s Action Heart charity.
The race, which started at Potters Cross and finished on Edgecliff School’s playing fields, is regarded by serious runners as one of the most challenging in the area.
A separate 2K family fun run was also held on the day for less experienced runners wishing to get involved and do their bit to support the Rotary Club’s chosen cause - Action Heart’s cardiac rehabilitation centre based at Russells Hall Hospital, which treats heart patients across the Black Country.
Joy Brown, from Action Heart, said sponsorship was still being collected in but the events look likely to have raised in the region of £3,000.
She added: “Action Heart are most grateful to Kinver Rotary for their support. Since the first event back in 2007 the Kinver 10K has raised £28,000 which is fantastic.”
