A CHARITY that supports the borough’s disabled youngsters has received a £476 cash boost after a team of girl guides were sponsored to whizz around a Lower Gornal sports hall in wheelchairs.
The Wychbury senior section completed the challenge on September 18 at Ellowes Hall Sports College in aid of Dudley’s Whizz Kidz Ambassador Club.
Hannah Morgan, aged 16, of Stourbridge, is not only a guide but a member of the club, which is part of a nationwide charity that provides disabled children and young adults with equipment to live independently.
Hannah had meningitis as a baby, which left her with a physical disability down her right side and she now uses a wheelchair, which was provided by Whizz Kidz.
The other guides got behind the cause Hannah is so passionate about and took to the chairs, which were provided by the wheelchair basketball team, the Dudley Chariots, to raise funds for the group.
Hannah added: “The event went really well and all the girls who attended did really well.”
