GENEROUS supermarket staff have donated more than 100 toys to borough families facing crisis.

Colleagues at Sainsbury's Amblecote and Merry Hill have joined forces to run a toy appeal in support of Dudley Council's Family and Adolescent Support Team (FAST), which assists families who are experiencing difficulties in parenting their children.

Over the last two months, staff and customers have donated more than 100 toys and gifts that will be given to the hundreds of children and families supported by FAST.

Councillor Tim Crumpton, cabinet member for children’s services and lifelong learning, said: “I would like to thank Sainsbury’s customers and staff for donating to both the Amblecote and Merry Hill stores’ gift collection. Our FAST team will distribute the gifts to families at their Christmas party in December.”

Kevin Healy, store manager at the Amblecote store, said: “We would like to thank all our customers at Amblecote and Merry Hill stores who donated gifts in support of the impressive work of the family and adolescent support team in the Dudley borough.”
