Hagley garden centre invites people to recycle their Christmas trees

WEBBS Garden Centre, West Hagley, is urging people to go green this New Year.

Customers are invited to drop off their Christmas trees for recycling between Saturday January 4 and Wednesday January 8.

The trees are made into chippings which are then composted for a year and used around the grounds and gardens at the stores as mulch.

Last year more than 500 trees were recycled using the free service and Webbs, which also has an outlet at Wychbold, hopes it will prove even more popular this year.

Webbs Executive Chairman Ed Webb said: “Having the tree recycling initiative right here on the doorstep makes it simple and hassle-free for local people to do their bit.“
