KINVER Rotary Club has thanked residents for their generosity after they collected a record amount of cash on their Santa sleigh collections.

The total collected by Rotarians, wives and helpers hit a staggering £6,045.

After deducting expenses, the club will distribute the cash to charities in Kinver, Enville, Wollaston and Wall Heath.

Club president, Nick Geoghegan, thanked  the residents of the four areas for their generosity and praised everyone who had helped with the sleigh's  two-week tour of the district.

He said: “A tremendous amount of work goes into the preparation of the sleigh and its administration but it is the people who so generously put cash into our collection tins that make it all worthwhile.”
