MEMBERS of the Lye Community Project organised a festive lunch for vulnerable and isolated elderly people on Christmas Day.
Supported by Christ Church, the Lye branch of The Salvation Army and the Ghausia Mosque Committee, funds were raised to pay for a traditional turkey lunch cooked by local restaurant Blakeys Eastern Promise.
Staff at HSBC Stourbridge donated mince pies and Stourbidge Creperie donated mince pies and sausage rolls.
Jo Stewart, who helped to organise the event, said: “It proved to be a true community event as others joined us to help on the day. Everyone had a most enjoyable time and are looking forward to next year’s event.”
