A BLACK Country film-maker is hoping to get his latest movie project off the ground with a crowdfunding campaign.

Dan Evans, originally from Wordsley, has been hoping to bring his second feature project Frozen in Time to the big screen for some time and he’s now calling on film fans to help make his dream a reality.

The fantasy drama film is set in the near future and sees Walter, a widowed work-from-home scientist who, together with his assistant Justin, aims to invent time travel after the death of his wife Lena.

But when Walter discovers he can save his wife from dying by changing his past he treads a dangerous path as his actions could compromise his sanity and cost him his life.

London based actor Giles Alderson has already been cast as Walter and LA actress Ja Née Nisonger has been signed up to play Lena.

But to turn the sci-fi story into a feature-length flick Dan, who has been making short films for the last nine years, needs to raise £8,000 towards the first phase of the project and has launched a campaign to raise the cash on www.kickstarter.com – a crowdfunding platform for people across the world to help fund creative projects.

The 25-year-old, who made his first feature Musik in 2010, said: “We are currently seeking as many supporters as we can to help get it off the ground.

“I'm determined to succeed in making this film."

Dan, who now lives in Birmingham and runs production company Expressive Arts Productions, added: "By pledging support people will also be able to receive some great rewards in return such as visits to the film set, an invite to the film premiere, lunch with the cast, signed DVDs or Blu-Rays, members access to the website to see exclusive video content, set diaries and pictures, plus lots more."

Money needs to be raised within around a month to fund phase one of the project which will help to pay the scriptwriter, get sets designed, storyboards created and a production manager in place to organise the next steps.
