A BRIERLEY Hill dentist has been shortlisted for an award for his dedication to perfecting patient's smiles.

Edward Young, who has worked at Amblecote Dental Care on Amblecote Road, since 2004, is in the running to win the Patient Choice Award for Orthodontics as part of the National Dental Aesthetic Awards.

This is the first time Dr Young, aged 33, has entered the awards and said he was "pleased" to have been selected as a finalist.

He said: "I work as a general dentist, with special interests in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics. I have also been trained in facial aesthetics with botox and fillers but for the past ten years, I have been straightening teeth of children and adults and hopefully contributed to some happy smiles."

He continued: "I entered the awards to see if my cases would meet the desired standards in front of a panel of esteemed dental experts. I was over the moon and humbled to be selected - I never expected to get this far."

Dr Young will find out if he has won at an award ceremony in London in March.
