GENEROUS staff at Stourbridge Jobcentre have raised £1,000 for four local charities.
In January last year, four members of staff set up a charity committee, with the aim to raise £1,000 throughout the year.
Every month, different events were arranged and the whole team at the centre, on Lower High Street took part in raffles, dress sown days and the auctioning off unwanted Christmas gifts.
The borough charities that will benefit from a £250 donation are the Renal Unit and Georgina Unit at Russells Hall Hospital, Guide Dogs for the Blind and The Whitehouse Project.
Tracey Brydges, a young person’s personal adviser at the centre, said: “We will also be continuing with our fund raising events this year and look forward to our end of year total being reached again.”
