MOTORISTS will have to use an alternative entrance to Stourbridge's household waste recycling centre next Friday while potholes are repaired.

The normal vehicle entrance in Birmingham Street will be closed from 8am to 6pm on February 14.

Traffic will be redirected with signs to the Stamford Road entrance.

Once the pothole work is complete the normal entrance will re-open.

Following the re-opening of Birmingham Street, Stamford Road will then be closed for maintenance work to be carried out.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “The site will remain open during these essential works and we hope that residents will be understanding in the change to the access.

“The pothole repairs will improve the road surface for everyone using the site in the future.”

Residents in the north of the borough can still use the site at Anchor Lane in Bilston, which operates every day apart from Tuesdays and Wednesdays when it is shut.
