AN appeal has been made for the return of a sentimental pair of boots that were accidentally sold at a Stourbridge shoe shop yesterday morning (Wednesday).
The old-fashioned hobnail black boots were purchased from Sowerby’s, Lower High Street.
They had previously belonged to Jo Sowerby’s deceased father-in-law and she had taken them to her father, Clive Sowerby’s shop as she is in the process of designing new boots and planned to emulate the traditional style.
She was mortified when she was told the boots, which she had left at the shop, had been accidentally sold for £20: “They aren’t worth anything but they are very sentimental - they are one of the only things my husband has that belonged to his father.
“They were handmade for him but he died within four weeks of having them.
“I can’t believe they have been sold. If whoever bought them could find it in their heart to return them, I would obviously give them their money back.”
She has pleaded with the customer who purchased the boots to contact her on 01384 394326 or 07974719612.
