WATER leaks in Stourbridge will be easier to detect and repair after Severn Trent Water invested around £60,000 in new meters.

The meters in Ham Lane and Wollaston Road were installed recently to help the water company find and fix leaks as quickly as possible.

Stephen Bramley of Severn Trent, explained: “As we look after 46,000km of water pipes, it can be a bit of an ongoing battle to pinpoint exactly where any leaks may be. But by investing around £60,000 in these meters, we should be able to find them much more quickly and easily.

"As the new meters are not under the road, we should also be able to maintain them in the future without digging it up, which is great news for our customers."
