Beauty spot to host wildlife discovery course

NATURE-LOVERS are invited to discover more about Worcestershire’s wildlife this summer.

Conservation charity Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is running wildlife discovery courses to help adults find out more about everything from flowers and trees to beetles and dormice.

One of the courses, Plants for Absolute Beginners, will take place at Penorchard Meadows, off Chapel Lane, near Clent Hills, on Saturday June 21 from 10am to 1.30pm.

Volunteer reserve warden John Sifford will show participants how to identify the top ten plant families and how to put their newly learnt skills to use in flower-rich meadows.

Bic Beaumont, Wildlife Trust communications assistant, said “Our courses are a really great opportunity for people to dip their toes into the world of wildlife or increase the knowledge they already have.

“The courses are friendly and informal with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and get advice.

“They’re always really popular and often get booked up so we advise anyone who is interested to call us and book their place before it’s too late.”

The Plants for Absolute Beginners course costs £15 per person. Places are limited so booking is essential.

To book call 01905 754919 or email bic@worcestershirewildlifetrust.org or check out website www.worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/courses for more information.
