STOURBRIDGE Theatre Company has celebrated another big win at the Worcestershire Theatre Festival.
The company almost swept the board for the second year running with its entry Double Take, directed by Roger Seabury and written by group member and Stourbridge playwright Dave Morris.
Cast members Simon Hawkins, Emma Francis, Maria Lodge and Richard Delahaye were named the overall winners at the festival, which was held at the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich, and they are now set to perform again at the quarter finals on Saturday April 12 at Highbury Little Theatre, Sutton Coldfield.
As well as being crowned overall festival winners – the company also scooped awards for best original piece of theatre, best play, the comedy award and Richard Delahaye was named best actor.
To top it off the awards were presented by a fellow Black Country acting sensation Jill Jordan, star of Doreen’s Story – a video mockumentary created by Quarry Bank playwright David Tristram that went viral on YouTube and which has since been turned into a stage play.
Stourbridge Theatre Company's latest triumph follows similar success at last year's festival which saw members walk away with five awards including the overall winners' trophy for their Dear Diva entry.
