BLACK Country comedy internet character turned stage star Doreen is returning for two extra outings this week.
An Audience With Doreen, about a fictional out-of-work mum who suffers from ‘lazy cow syndrome’, was devised by Quarry Bank playwright and film-maker David Tristram after his spoof video Doreen’s Story went viral on YouTube.
The show, starring Black Country actress Gill Jordan as Doreen, made its stage debut in October last year and sold out at venues across the Midlands.
Following its huge success a number of further dates have since been added, with the final two stage outings set for tomorrow (Tuesday April 8) and Wednesday April 9 at Bridgnorth’s Theatre On The Steps before work starts on ‘Doreen – The Movie’.
