A NORTON hairdressing salon hopes to prove a cut above the rest after being nominated for two prestigious awards.
Salon 2000, which is situated on the Broadway, have been nominated in two categories in the National Hairdressing Awards for Central England.
Jess Langridge has been entered for the 'Student of the Year' award, while Salon 2000 has also been nominated for 'Salon of the Year'.
Proprietor Julie Sargent, who has been running the Salon 2000 for the past seven years admitted her surprise at being nominated and said: "It came completely out of the blue. I was on holiday at the time and when I came back I found everyone in a state of excitement".
Now Julie is hoping her customers will help the salon over the winning line with an on-line vote, the winners will be announced at a plush ceremony which take place at Edgbaston Country Cricket ground on May 19.
