A STOURBRIDGE primary school came up with a cracking plan to raise funds for charity.

Pupils at Ham Dingle Primary School combined their Easter bonnet parade with Brain Tumour Research's Wear a Hat Day.

Youngsters aged between four to seven took part in a parade while older children, aged seven to 11, wore a hat of their choice yesterday (Thursday).

All children paid £1 to take part, with all proceeds going to the charity, that raises awareness of brain tumours and funds sustainable and continuous research.

Their efforts are expected to have raised around £300.

Headteacher, Joanne Davies, said: "The younger children have enjoyed making and wearing the Easter bonnets as we build up to Easter and we thought it would be great if we could raise money for a worthy cause at the same time."
