NIGEL Farage MEP, leader of Britain’s UKIP party, will be paying a visit to Dudley to attend a major public meeting ahead of the forthcoming European elections.

Mr Farage, the face of the UK Independence Party, will be speaking at an open public meeting at Dudley Town Hall, St James Road, on Friday April 25.

His visit follows hot on the heels of a stop off by the party's deputy leader Paul Nuttall - who opened UKIP's new campaign HQ in the Black Country, in Sedgley, on Wednesday (April 9).

Mr Farage, whose popularity has received a boost in the polls following two victorious TV debates against Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, said: "I’m very much looking forward to coming to Dudley and giving people the opportunity to listen first hand to the arguments for leaving the EU.

“For too long people have been deceived by the spin of successive parties in Government and by EU propaganda itself.

“UKIP is the only party who passionately believe in public meetings and proper politics bringing the messages back to the people.”

The public meeting, which aims to give people across the borough chance to hear Mr Farage's stance on key issues ahead of the European elections, will be hosted by West Midlands lead MEP candidate Jill Seymour.

Borough based MEP candidate Bill Etheridge will also be at the event along with fellow West Midlands European election candidates Jim Carver, Phil Henrick, Michael Wrench, Michael Green and Lyndon Jones.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

The event is a ticket only event. Tickets are free if booked and received online.
