THE drinks are on Kinver Constitutional Club as they continue to mop up Campaign for Real Ale awards.

They've just been voted Dudley and South Staffs CAMRA branch club of the year for the eighth successive time.

The Kinver High Street based club then followed up by winning the West Midlands title for the fourth time in five years.

And they only just missed out on the national crown when named runner-up, having previously won the prestigious title in 2011.

Steward Steve Hadley, who has been working at Kinver Constitutional Club for the past 28 years, said: "It never hurts to win awards.

"We try to sell a number of local beers at a reasonable price and it seems to be what our customers like.

"Obviously we do it to the benefit of our own business, but it's always nice to be appreciated by outside parties.

"I would say 75 to 80 per cent of the beer we sell is brewed within a 50 mile radius and we do try to support the local breweries such as Kinver Edge, Sarah Hughes, Holdens and Enville Ales."

CAMRA'S Stan Stephens added: "There are quite a number of clubs who qualify to enter in our branch alone and its remarkable that Kinver Constitutional Club keep winning.

"The fact they do so well nationally just goes to show how good they are."
