SOUTH Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson has become the second honorary member of Kinver Rotary Club since its formation in 1985.

Mr Williamson said it was a privilege to be part of the club at his induction ceremony at The Fox Inn, Stourton.

He continued: “Kinver Rotary Club is an amazing club, not just for the little things it does, but the massive things - raising tens of thousands of pounds each year for charities and good causes and making Kinver nicer place to live.

“This is all down to a group of just over 40, for them to make such a difference to a community is an amazing achievement.”

He thanked the members for always giving him a kind welcome and involving him in the club activities and added: “There is nothing more valuable than being part of a community. It is my privilege to be part of his club.”

Club president Nick Geoghegan thanked Mr Williamson for his continuous support of the club, despite his increasing commitments at Westminster and presented him with an engraved crystal decanter and tumbler, together with his club badge.
