UP to 1,000 runners from across the country are set to descend on Wall Heath which is hosting one of the biggest mid-week road races in the West Midlands next week.
Dudley Kingswinford Running Club will host the DK10K race on Wednesday May 7.
The Gold Standard race, which takes in picturesque country lanes around the South Staffordshire borders, will provide a boost for Dudley’s Action Heart charity based at Russells Hall Hospital.
Runners are invited to collect sponsorship for the charity, which provides rehabilitation for heart attack and heart surgery patients, and the club will also make a donation from any profits from the event.
Goody bags will be issued to all finishers.
Around 600 runners have already signed up so far but up to 1,000 are expected to take part.
The closing date for entries is Friday May 2.
