BIG-hearted Ben Boleyn is pulling out all the stops this summer to help raise funds for a children's charity.
The 18-year-old King Edward VI College student from Wall Heath will be attempting to climb Africa's highest peak - Mount Kilimanjaro - in August.
Ben, who plays football for Kewford Eagles, also aims to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice where he helps out every week as a volunteer.
He said: "I'm looking to go into medicine or healthcare when I leave college and I tried to get some work experience at some local nursing homes, but didn't get much response back.
"Then I contacted Acorns Children's Hospice and they got back to me almost immediately. I've seen at first hand the amazing work they do caring for terminally ill children.
"I was going to take a gap year and get some work experience. Africa seemed a good place to go and I thought, while I was there I might as well do something.
"As long as I raise some money - that's the most important thing."
