A MAN had to be rescued by paramedics after falling through floorboards in a disused shop in Lye today (Thursday).
Ambulance crews were called to the property on Stourbridge Road, shortly before 12.55pm.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a man who had fallen approximately six feet through the floor into the cellar below.
“Due to the location of the incident, ambulance crews had to gain access to the man via the neighbouring shop’s cellar.
“Fortunately, the man who was a little shocked following the incident hadn’t sustained any serious injuries in the fall.
“He was treated at the scene for a minor head and arm injury before being conveyed to Russell Hall Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
