ELDERLY passengers in the borough will find it easier to obtain concessionary travel passes following a change of heart by Centro.
They have agreed to increase the number of their 'Check & Send' outlets following discussions with Age UK Dudley.
It followed a decision by Centro to rationalise their outlets at the start of April, which meant anyone applying in person could only do so at Fisher Street bus station in Dudley.
Centro have now agreed to continue with their Check and Send' facilities at the Age UK Dudley Shopmobility Centre in Merry Hill.
Brian Phillips, senior manager with Age UK Dudley, said: "Centro were made aware of the implications involved. A great many people who apply for concessionary travel passes have mobility and cost issues.
"In fairness, Centro were quick to respond and we had positive discussions with them."
Age UK Dudley believed the original decision would have caused considerable inconvenience and additional cost.
They added that it wouldn't have represented a good deal for many older people within the borough who apply each year for concessionary travel passes.
