POLICE have handed over £500 to a Stourbridge craft centre that supports people with disabilities
The Cockle Shell Craft Centre gives people with learning difficulties the opportunity to try their hand at activities including pottery, painting and animal welfare.
Based at Worcester Street, the centre also offers in-house retail training courses to boost the job prospects of centre users.
The money, which was raised through the sale of property seized as part of police investigations, will be help with the ongoing running costs of the centre's popular community cafe.
Dudley police's crime and vulnerability officer, Sarah Nixon, said: "I, along with the neighbourhood policing team have worked closely with staff and the public who often visit Cockle Shell and we have a real understanding on how the centre has a positive impact on the local community.
"The centre offers support to those who need it and their door is always open for members of the community."
