ORGANISERS of this year's Black Country Festival in Dudley borough are urging anyone who wants to be involved to get in touch now.

Any individuals, bands, performers and stall holders looking to take part should hurry up and register.

A Black Country Festival will be held as part of Stourbridge Carnival in the Coventry Street area of the town on Sunday July 6.

The following Saturday (July 12), there will be a full day of entertainment on Stone Street Square in Dudley.

There will also be a three-day event featuring a Black Country Night Out taking place at the Red House Glass Cone in Wordsley from July 11 to 13.

A number of smaller events will be taking place across the region throughout July.

Garry Sawers, aka Black Country Gaz and one of the organisers, said: "Interest in the Black Country Festival is huge and with just a couple of months to go, we really want everyone to come forward now if they want to be involved.

"By getting in touch, we can try to ensure all activities are listed on the website and the event programme."

People can register their interest by emailing info@blackcountryfestival.co.uk.

Official national Black Country Day is scheduled for Monday July 14 and already Dudley Council's community forums across the borough have allocated around £15,000 towards the festival.
