SOCCER mad Stourbridge folk can sharpen up their footballing skills with a series of events taking place in the Ryemarket as the town gears up for the World Cup next month.

A football freestyler will be showcasing his skills in the Ryemarket on Friday May 30 and inviting youngsters to have a go as well.

There will also be a penalty shoot-out competition with various prizes on offer plus entertainment from a footballer on stilts.

Anyone wanting to take part in a football freestyle competition must email in advance to book their slot as there is expected to be plenty of demand.

Slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Other activities taking place include balloon modelling and magic while the shopping centre's Ryely mouse mascot will be out and about dishing out free chocolate football medals.
