CONSUMER champions from BBC's Rip Off Britain will offer shoppers free advice when they bring their pop-up shop to Merry Hill.

The show's presenters, Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville and a team of experts from Dudley Council's trading standards will be filming at the Brierley Hill shopping centre from 10am on Saturday June 21 and 11am on Sunday June 22.

They hope to help people who believe they have been cheated out of their hard earned cash and provide invaluable information to allow shoppers to make informed consumer choices.

Angela Rippon said: "No one likes being taken for a ride. This is your chance to get practical advice and help face-to-face with our experts. Come and join us. We could just be the solution to your problems."

Visitors hoping for advice on a specific problem are strongly advised to bring along relevant paperwork or the experts may not be able to help.

Councillor Pete Lowe, deputy leader of Dudley Council, added: “Our trading standards officers do an excellent job every day protecting the interests of our residents. It is a great opportunity for the team to take part in a popular TV show and discuss residents’ concerns at Merry Hill.

"I would remind residents that they can always approach trading standards with concerns they may have regarding being mis-sold products or services.”

The pop-up shop will be located on the upper mall, opposite Boots.
