Visitors to this weekend's Kinver Country Fayre are promised a fantastic family day out.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the traditional fun day event , which will be held on Sunday (June 15).

The fayre will have an 'Island Race' theme and the headline act will be The Vikings of Middle England - one of the country's leading re-enactment groups who will be doing battle on the day.

Other entertainment from around the British Isles, will come in the form of Scottish dancing, English folk dancing and Irish music.

There will also be a host of the usual favourites including falconry displays, the Wyre Valley Axemen, dog agility displays, archery, children's entertainment, shire horses, farm animals, steam engines, classic cars and a fun dog show.

Stourbridge Rugby Club, which is celebrating its 40th year of mini and juniors rugby, will also attend the fayre for the first time.

The club will run a rugby skills stall during the day and showcase how the game is developed from the age of six, through mini, junior and colts rugby to the adult game when they take to the the main stage at 4pm.

Robert Nicholls, the director of Kinver estate agents, Midcalf Nicholls, who are sponsoring the entrance wristbands into the main arena, said: “It is so important to be part of the local community and to be able to support events such as the country fayre, whilst fully appreciating the amount of time and energy that local residents give voluntarily to the organisation of this popular family event."
