STOURBRIDGE theatre group Side by Side will celebrate the Bard of Avon's 450th birthday by performing their own version of Twelfth Night.

The group of award-winning learning disabled actors will take to the stage with Illyria-on-Sea.

Set at a 1950s seaside resort, the play is part of the Royal Shakespeare Companies Open Stages Project, which sees amateur companies given training and support from classically trained Shakespearian actors.

The company has also been working with Tony Lidington - the UK’s leading expert on sea-side entertainment.

Comprising a combination of dance, music, mime and dialogue, the production will run at Stourbridge Town Hall from June 25 to 28.

Performances on June 25 and 26 will start at 7.30pm, with shows on June 27 and 28 taking place at 2pm.

Tickets, priced £8 are available from The French Deli, Coventry Street, Stourbridge, or by calling 07880437117.

Children can attend for free, with a paying adult on Saturday.

The cast will also hold a free question and answer session on Friday at 4pm.
