STAFF and pupils at a Wordsley primary school have thanked a dedicated school fundraiser for her efforts in helping to pull in more than £20,000 over the years.

Bev Hodgkiss, chairman of Ashwood Park Primary School's home and school association, organised her last event for the school last Friday (June 20) after six years in the role.

The tireless volunteer fundraiser, who joined the association ten years ago when her daughter Lilly was in year two, is calling it a day as her son Aiden will be leaving the school this July.

Teacher and Home and School staff member Ruth Reynolds said: “We will all be very sad to see Bev go as chairman and are very grateful for all her hard work and dedication to Ashwood Park HSA.”

She said Bev organised countless fetes, events, activities and fundraisers for the school - raising more than £20,000 to help buy equipment and resources during her time a chairman, with her final event for Ashwood Park - a summer barbecue and school fete - pulling in around £1,600.
