A 23-YEAR-OLD Brierley Hill thug who brutally attacked two complete strangers in the Stourbridge area after a heated argument with his girlfriend has been jailed for nine months.

Judge Michael Challinor at Wolverhampton Crown Court told Lee Cartwright: "Your victims were two young men who were doing nothing more than walking along the street."

Cartwright grabbed Sebastian Bartlett and Reece Jenkins as they made their way home after a night out and told them - "give me your phone and your wallet or I will knock you out".

Kevin Jones, prosecuting, said Cartwright took £10 off Mr Mr Bartlett while his friend managed to break away and run off despite being punched hard in the face.

After his arrest Cartwright, of Brompton Drive, Brierley Hill, told police officers: "I had an argument with my girlfriend and I needed to de-stress."

Cartwright admitted robbery and attempted robbery and the judge ruled only an immediate jail sentence was appropriate for such serious offending.
