A STOURBRIDGE events agency which boasts having booked former US president Bill Clinton as a guest speaker is celebrating its 15th anniversary.

Managing director Nick Terry founded Top Banana in 1999 with operations director Richard Bridge - and between them they have travelled to every continent across the globe to organise events for companies including Gucci Group, Wilko, Bacardi and Barclaycard.

Unforgettable moments over the years have included booking Bill Clinton as a secret guest at a major brand event and narrowly avoiding bombs in war torn countries.

Nick, who lives in Stourbridge, said: “We’re so proud to have worked on leadership events with some of the world’s top brands. Among our most memorable moments are hearing bombs going off in Beirut during an event and hosting dinners in the Forbidden City in Beijing with a waiting ratio of 1:1.”

The firm, which started out as an idea drawn on a napkin in a garage, is based in Broome, near Stourbridge, and has grown to achieve a turnover of £6.7m annually. It has also scooped a host of awards over the years.

As a thank you to hard-working employees and to celebrate the milestone anniversary and most successful year to date, Top Banana took all of its 38 staff to Barcelona.

Nick added: “Wherever possible we try and recruit local staff, and our staff base is predominantly local, and it feels good to be able to put something back into the local community.”
