STOURBRIDGE students cooked up a storm when they competed against each other in a bake-off.
Pupils from Pedmore, Ridgewood and Redhill School were whisked to Thorns Community College to go head-to-head in the competition on Thursday (June 26).
Students from the schools, which form part of The Stourbridge Educational Trust, were asked to rise to the challenge of baking a healthy cake, using at least one type of fruit or vegetable.
Judges considered the taste, presentation and decoration of their efforts before deciding that Amy Passey, a pupil at the hosting school, was the deserving winner with her raspberry and poppy seed fat-free sponge cake, topped with strawberries.
Rebecca Turley, gifted and talented co-ordinator at Thorns, said: "All students worked with such independence and precision, they made their schools very proud."
