The following appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court between June 30 and July 4:

Kieran Daniel Taplin, aged 25, of Hartlebury Road, Oldbury, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for stealing alcohol, worth £6.50, from New Farm Store, Lye, on April 16. He was ordered to pay compensation of £6.50, a victim surcharge of £15 and £85 court costs.

David Andrew Jones, aged 33, of Kinfare Rise, Upper Gornal, was fined £160, for failing to attend a follow-up assessment at Atlantic House, Lye, at the specified time on May 19 and driving without insurance in Dudley on June 29. He was given six penalty points and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Sean David Greening, aged 25, of Kings Street, Dudley, was given a six month community order for stealing chocolate, worth £30.15, and car products, of unknown value, from Wilkinsons, Dudley, on June 2 and stealing batteries and tinned salmon, worth £94, from Tesco, Dudley on June 8. He was given a three week curfew and for the duration, must remain at his home address between 9pm and 6am. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £125 court costs.

Laura Caroline Alison Quinn, aged 29, of Stourbridge Road, Dudley, was sent to prison for 12 weeks for stealing meat, worth £301.87, from Sainsbury’s, Brierley Hill, between June 1 and 6, while subject to a suspended sentence.

Jamie William Dakin, aged 18, of Farm Road, Netherton, was discharged conditionally for six months for stealing three Yankee Candles, worth £35.77, from Boots, Merry Hill, on June 9. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and £40 court costs.

Mark Russell Douglas, aged 36, of Tiled House Lane, Pensnett, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting a woman in Cradley on June 6. He was ordered to pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Andrew Michael Smith, aged 40, of Lyndsey Place, Brierley Hill, was sent to prison for six weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing seven packs of steak, worth £30.80, from Sainsbury’s Local, Wordsley and chicken, worth £24.50, from Sainsbury’s Wollaston on June 20. He was also sentenced for stealing 24 cans of fish, worth £56.40, from Co-op, Norton on June 21. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Adam Paul Thompson, aged 23, of Langstone Road, Russells Hall, was sent to prison for 20 weeks, suspended for 12 months, for assaulting a woman in Brierley Hill on May 19 and 21. He was ordered to pay compensation of £250 and £85 court costs.

Scott Hawkes, aged 26, of Lawley Street, Dudley, was fined £275 for drink driving, without insurance or a MOT, in Dudley on December 6. When tested, he had 145mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. The legal limit is 80mgs. He was disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £100 court costs.

Timothy Homer, aged 54, of Ashenhurst Road, Russells Hall, was given a 12 month community order for assaulting a man and woman in Dudley on December 25. He was ordered to pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £60 and £200 court costs.

Scott John Southall, aged 33, of Lower Derry Street, Brierley Hill, was sent to prison for eight weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing chicken and bacon, worth £15, from Iceland, Halesowen, on June 9. He was ordered to pay compensation of £15, a victim surcharge of £80 and £85 court costs.

Daniel Goral, aged 30, of Green Park Road, Dudley, was sent to prison for 18 weeks, suspended for 18 months, for stealing a HTC 8s, worth £200, in Dudley on May 23. He was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work, pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £80 and £85 court costs.
