VISITORS can help themselves to a sneak preview of restored Hagley Hall Park while supporting Midlands based charity St Basils at the same time.

St Basils will be staging a charity day at historic Hagley Hall Park on September 14.

Visitors can explore all the restoration work which has been taking place at the park before it officially reopens in 2015.

Extensive work on the 350-acre site has helped return the park to its former glory of the early 1800's.

Visitors will be able to stroll through the grounds taking in the lake, deer park, rotunda, folly castle and the gardens which made Hagley Hall so popular during the romantic era of 1800 to 1850.

In its heyday, the park inspired many writers and painters of the period including renowned poet Alexander Pope; it was also visited by two US presidents.

All proceeds raised from the charity day will go St Basils which helps homeless young people across the region.

Visitors should book their tickets in advance by calling 0121 772 9614 or by visiting www.stbasils.org.uk/hagleyhall
