BOROUGH parks are set to host a week of free play events for kids this summer.

Children and young people of all ages are invited to enjoy a host of activities being laid on by Dudley Council next month.

Kids will be able to try out a climbing wall, parachute games, sumo fun sessions, team games, nature activities, den building, arts and crafts, storytelling, a fire pit and there will also be a baby zone.

The fun sessions will run from noon to 4pm at Huntingtree Park, Halesowen, on Monday August 4; Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge on Wednesday August 6; Priory Park in Dudley on Thursday August 7; and The Dell and Fens Pools in Brockmoor and Pensnett on Friday August 8.

Councillor Tim Crumpton, Dudley’s cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Playweek is a great success every year and takes place across the parks in the borough regardless of what the weather is like on the day. I would encourage families to find the park nearest to them and take the children for a fabulous free play day.

“The activities are all staffed by professional playworkers and there is something for children of all ages at each event.”

Participants just need to complete a basic registration form at each park to join in the fun. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
