The following appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court between August 4 and 8:

Kevin Attwood, aged 36, of Wells Road, Brierley Hill, was fined £110 for sending a text message to a woman on July 16, which conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Tony Wayne Ball, aged 28, of Olive Lane, Halesowen, was given a 12 month community order for damaging a window and using violence to secure entry to a premises, knowing that someone present was opposed to his entry, in Halesowen on April 10. He was given a three month curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 8pm and 7am. He must pay compensation of £80 a victim surcharge of £60 and £200 court costs.

Jason Paul Caldwell, aged 43, of Stourbridge Road, Holly Hall, was fined £165 for drink driving in Brierley Hill on July 19. When tested, he had 58mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was disqualified from driving for three years and must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Angela Lynne Edwards, aged 52, of Abbottsford Drive, Russells Hall, was sent to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing alcohol from Asda, Halesowen, on four occasions between June 21 and July 7 and stealing four bottles of whisky, worth £78.10, from Tesco, Stourbridge, on July 28, while subject to a community order. She must pay compensation of £102, a victim surcharge of £80 and £85 court costs.

Ruth Victoria Tait, aged 38, of Heathfield Gardens, Stourbridge, was given a 12 month community order for stealing sunglasses, worth £25, in Stourbridge on June 30. She was given a three month curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 7pm and 7am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Mark Allan Rock, aged 33, of Cinder Bank, Netherton, was sent to prison for six months for assaulting a man, stealing a car and driving without insurance, while disqualified, in Dudley on July 6. He was given six penalty points.

Kenneth Brotherston, aged 57, of Love Lane, Lye, was given a 12 month community order for drink driving in Lye on April 3. When tested he had 69mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months. He was also sentenced for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause two people harassment, alarm or distress, in Stourbridge on April 3. The offences were racially aggravated. Brotherston must pay compensation of £300, a victim surcharge of £60 and £400 court costs.

Steven Humphries, aged 39, of Mill Street, Brierley Hill, was fined £110 for drink driving in Dudley on May 23. When tested, he had 107mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. The legal limit is 85mgs. He was also sentenced for failing to stop after an accident. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

David Andrew Jones, aged 33, of Osprey Drive, Dudley, was given a six week community order for stealing alcohol from Sainsbury’s, Brierley Hill, on July 21. He was given a six week curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 8pm and 6am. He must pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Paul John Sanders, aged 40, of Osprey Drive, Dudley, was fined £75 for stealing alcohol from Sainsbury’s, Brierley Hill, on July 21. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Michelle Alexandra Sykes, aged 34, of Osprey Drive, Dudley, was given an eight week community order for stealing alcohol from Sainsbury’s, Brierley Hill, on July 21. She was given an eight week curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 8pm and 6am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Stephen Paul James Harkins, aged 27, of Finchley Close, Lower Gornal, was fined £150 for failing to keep records of scrap metal being transported and carrying on business as a scrap metal dealer when not authorised by a licence, in Coseley, on February 26. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Joanne Rebecca Harriet Lee, aged 41, of Waggon Street, Old Hill, was discharged conditionally for nine months for stealing two bottles of perfume, worth £137, from Debenhams, Brierley Hill, on July 14. She must pay compensation of £137, a victim surcharge of £15 and £85 court costs.

Karl Christopher Flynn, aged 35, of Keepers Close, Kingswinford, was given a 12 month community order for dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of stolen goods, in Dudley, between April 2 and June 11. He must carry out 100 hours unpaid work, pay compensation of £600, a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Sarah Louise Jones, aged 34, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was sent to prison for 20 weeks, for stealing cosmetics, worth £62.55, from Boots, Kingswinford on July 1 and stealing Lynx sprays, worth £30, from Penn Care Pharmacy, Penn, on May 16.

Christopher Ronald Welch, aged 32, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley was sent to prison for 10 weeks for stealing Lynx sprays, worth £30, from Penn Care Pharmacy, Penn, on May 16.
